SUOMINEN CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 17 AUGUST 2009 AT 9.15 A.M.

EMPLOYEE NEGOTATIONS CONCLUDED AT SUOMINEN IKAMER

Employee negotiations started in June at Suominen Flexibles' Ikaalinen plant
have been concluded. The negotiations were started due to a temporary decline in
the demand for products of Suominen Ikamer and to secure the competitiveness of
the plant.

As a result of the negotiations, lay-offs estimated to total 38 days involving
the entire personnel, approximately 60 people, will be implemented during the
autumn. The first 10-day period will be held between September and October.
Possible other lay-off periods will be decided separately.
